Prevention

We all have responsibility in helping to prevent public sector corruption and making sure public funds are being spent as intended, delivering important government services and infrastructure for all.

Our prevention efforts will focus on public-sector corruption and misconduct. We will also work collaboratively with key partners to ensure a coordinated approach. Preventing public sector corruption is a key priority for ACCS. This is done by informing the public sector and the community about the risks and impacts and of ways in which it can be prevented.

Because corruption is by its nature secretive and difficult to detect, a public-sector employee is best placed to identify suspicious conduct by other employees in your organisation or involving external parties like contractors or suppliers. Be aware that it is your responsibility for you to know of the standards expected of you as a public-sector employee.
